iTrax02 Family has entered End of Life process

 In keeping with Fastrax commitment to continually evolve our products we are announcing end of life (EOL) of the iTrax02 family of products. This is due to uNav Microelectronics (www.unav-micro.com) decision that the manufacturing of uN8031 Base Band IC will be discontinued. As a consequence Fastrax hereby gives EOL (End Of Life) notification for OEM GPS modules using the mentioned IC.

Fastrax Announces Availability of iTrax130 Development Kit for iSuite 3 SDK, Supporting Selected Sony Chipsets 

Helsinki, Finland and Long Beach, CA, USA (ION GNSS show) – September 15, 2005 – Fastrax Ltd., a leading provider of open and portable OEM GPS Software Development Kit environments and programmable OEM GPS receivers, today announced the availability of the iTrax130 Development Kit for the iSuite™ 3 SDK. The new iTrax130 Development Kit adds support for selected Sony GPS chipsets to the iSuite 3 Software Development Kit. Both the iSuite 3 Software Development Kit and the iTrax130 Development Kit have been licensed to Sony Corporation.
Fastrax iSuite technology is designed for rapid modification of the features and functionality of a GPS receiver, thus reducing the time to market and bill of materials cost of location-aware products. iSuite technology also enables remote on-the-fly reprogramming of GPS receiver firmware and application software. This can significantly decrease product maintenance costs and improve customer satisfaction.

With the announcement of the iTrax130 Development Kit, the iSuite 3 SDK becomes the only embedded GPS Software Development Kit available for multiple GPS chipset platforms. In addition to existing iTrax03 Development Kit for u-Nav Microelectronics GPS chipsets, iSuite SDK users now have several chipset options available for their application platform.

The iTrax130 Development Kit for iSuite 3 SDK supports Sony CXD2951 and CXD2956+CXA3355 GPS chipsets and will be available by the end of 2005.

iTalk 3 Reference Implementation Software is now available. iTalk 3 RIS is free of charge to our evaluation Kit and iTrax03 module customers.

iTalk 3 RIS enables you to write your own iTalk implementation without the need of iSuite 3 SDK. The package contains full source code for iTalk 3 RIS library and sample applications.

Also, iTalk  3 RIS includes full source code for a NMEA parser library written in C++.  The library is compatible with Windows CE and Windwos 98/2000/XP and also portable to other platforms. The library is accompanied by sample applications.

iTalk 3 RIS is free of charge, but it is subject to iTalk 3 RIS license. To sign the license please contact Fastrax.
